This is among my favorite paintings, partly because its one of my favorite places.
The idea that a painting can help
us get out of the day-to-day doldrums; change our perspective, even for a
brief moment, it allows us that mental vacation we sometimes need. We can
drift in and become part of the scene, taking us from Wall Street to the Rocky
Mountains. A good artist can also be a good travel agent.
